When we ask veterans what they want to see in our organization, the OVERWHELMING majority want to see something that makes a difference. Many veterans tell us they would like something "family friendly”.  Some wish to see an operating Canteen, which is located at the American Legion Hall in Sutter Creek. 

We provided Honor/Color Guards, Poppy/Membership Drives, veterans service, community service, commemorations, essay contests, Dinners, community service & awards, buddy checks, and a weekly newsletter. 

Despite a pervasive negative perception in some places, we are fulfilling and, in some cases, exceeding our requirements as set forth in our Congressional Charter, as well as the mission, vision, and core values of the VFW!!!  What you see here is simply a small example of what we do with limited resources, and yet Ione Veterans Memorial Post 8254 has been recognized as an All-American and All-State Post in four of the last five years.  Imagine what we could accomplish be done with more participation!!!  

All this with just a few veterans.  Can you imagine what more we could do with your support?
